Samsung is preparing for the next Unpacked event on July 10, where the spotlight will be on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. Alongside these foldables, the electronics powerhouse will likely introduce the Galaxy S24 FE, a mid-range device generating buzz for reportedly surpassing the flagship Galaxy S24 in several key areas.
Leaks from renowned tipster @OreXda hint at the Galaxy S24 FE being in development, with the device expected to feature both Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chipsets. It marks a departure from the strategy used for the Galaxy S23 FE, which hosted a less powerful chipset than its S23 counterpart.
Preliminary specifications suggest the S24 FE will boast a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and a 4,500mAh battery, significantly improved over the S24's 4,000mAh unit. This enhancement could position the S24 FE as a standout smartphone for 2024.
Additionally, the Samsung Budget 5G new model is due with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256 GB. While sharing many similarities with the S24, the FE model should go official as a more affordable alternative, potentially featuring lower-tier cameras and reduced durability.
Samsung often trims down the specs on its FE devices to maintain a $200 price gap between both categories. Samsung's strategy to not skip the FE model for the S24 generation indicates a commitment to providing high-quality options across different price points.
If the company follows its previous release schedule, the Galaxy S24 FE could see an October launch, aiming to build on the success of the S24 series with a more budget-friendly variant.
