Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 Hits Google Play Console; Spills Core Details and Specs

Tecno Phantom V Fold was almost the same price as a Galaxy Flip when they released it in February 2023. People called it the cheapest book-style Fold to buy. From then until now, we’re holding our breath to see what the next chapter of this Fold will entail.

Google Play Console certified the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 moments ago and left some interesting clues about it. One of the first things is a correction in the title. When it appeared on Geekbench earlier, people thought it was Phantom V2 Fold. It turns out that ‘Phantom V Fold 2’ is the correct title.

From what the GPC listing showed, we are probably looking at an MTK chipset inside this device. The best bet will be a Dimensity 9000 series chip, a possible variation of the D9000+ found in the original Phantom V Fold. We learned from the Geekbench that there’s a Mali-G710 MC10 for a GPU (another notable clue into V Fold 2’s SoC).

It will continue being a Primo flagship device with up to 12 GB RAM. Plus, the dimensions of the inner screen will also be the same. Expect a 2000x2296 pixels resolution for the internal panel that will default to 480 DPI visuals for ultra-clear graphics on Tecno's upcoming foldable phone.

TUV certification for this phone was also insightful. It foreshadowed some of the possible upgrades due for the Phantom V Fold 2. A 5610 mAh battery will be a nice bump from the V Fold’s 5000mAh. Some design changes and a new Android 14 operating system are also underway.
