The official outset of Dynamic Island via iPhone 14 Pro series leaves one question unanswered; is Dynamic Island coming to the entire lineup of iPhones next time or just the Pro models? Leak publisher, The Elec, puts all the suspicions to rest in the latest report. Here’s a brief overview.
Everyone’s familiar with Dynamic Island, Apple’s crowned feature on iPhone 14’s, and an almost miraculous utilization of ugly screen cutouts and notches. Non-Pro iPhones, unfortunately, didn’t receive the new notch implementation this time. However, The Elec suggests not to lose hope just yet.
In the next generation, Dynamic island is coming in non-Pro, and Pro iPhone 15’s equally. The report hints at Apple’s attempt to procure display etching equipment used to produce your favorite pill-shaped cutout. Allegedly, the components supply worth 19.3 million USD is already en-route to Apple warehouses, and production might start soon.
As usual, the displays on new iPhones will be Samsung-based, and the Korean chain expects to meet Apple’s elevated demand for All-catalog Dynamic island screens. iPhone's latest price does not seem to justify the features it offers but all of this is about to change. In one of their claims, Elec also mentions that iPhone 16 Pros will finally receive an under-display FaceID solution in 2024. Some people might find this claim absurd, but it seems legit.
UD technology pioneer, Samsung, is reportedly partnering with OTI Lumionics to manufacture an under-screen sensor with proprietary organic cathode pattern material for high-clarity camera layering. The technology will ultimately end up in future iPhones.
Under-display technology is unlikely with upcoming iPhone 15 models, though the iPhone 16 series might feature it as an innovation.
