Apple iPhone 16 Pro & 16 Pro Max to Get Faster Wired and Wireless Charging Speeds

Silicons, displays, cameras, we’re curious to know what else could change with the iPhone 16 Pro lineup. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be better at charging rates this time. It will be a nice change of pace if the leak pans out.

Everyone knows that the current iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have a peak of 27W input while plugged in. And wireless charging is only 15W through MagSafe. Where companies are breaking records with 100+ watts of charging solutions, Apple has been sleeping at the wheel.

But we hear things are about to change. Reportedly, their aims for Apple iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are 40W wired and 20W wireless charging. Of course, those aren’t the numbers you may see continuously. But, at peak times, when you plug the Apple iPhone future models at 0%, it may hit 40W or 20W (wireless).

Apple, of all companies, knows that higher charging stats aren’t always in your best interest. And it seems to be a hesitant step. But the one thing we know about Apple is that it thinks things through. You can think of the limited faster charging rates as the best move forward.

Of course, there is one more reason they could be bumping up the charging rates. And that is higher battery sizes. There are rumors of an upgrade in that area. They may want to compensate for longer charging times with faster inputs. So you can bet the new iPhone 16 Pros will last longer than before.
