Bezels on iPhones are yet to go slimmer. We have reported several times that the iPhone 16 family will debut on September 9th, and while we were waiting, some new details have recently broken out. These new models may have something to surprise you in the display section as well.

There was a leak with the 16 Pro Max design schematic. And what it confirmed was a 1.15mm uniform bezel size all around the phone's screen. It's quite the leap in one year. We also heard something along these lines from Samsung Display.

They admitted that a product is in R&D for screen-hidden cameras and has no black borders sticking out. Coincidence or not, Apple also has a display tech called Border Reduction Structure (BRS) this year. We can't help but suspect some correlation there.

Recently, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg commented on it, saying that the iPhone 16 Pro bezel size is down approximately 33% if you put it side-by-side with 15 Pro. For an even longer stretch there, we've heard time and time that the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max screen sizes are also larger.

6.3" iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9" Pro Max go big this year, and the slimmer bezels may have helped. Thinking the iPhone 14 Pro two years ago and how its bezels measured 3.5mm. They trimmed it down to 2mm for iPhone 15 Pro. At this progression rate, 1.4mm bezels this year sound about right.
