From all the build-up, rumored specs, and leaked design, the iPhone SE 4 is every bit as modern and powerful as the iPhone 16 (give or take a few specifications). So, a new theory by leaker Majin Bu is spreading like wildfire on the interweb, which claims the SE 4 could change its moniker to iPhone 16e.
Majin Bu sourced this info from his insider sources, and with his track record, it’s hard to deny what he claims in his latest X post. To tell you the truth, this new theory makes a lot of sense, and probably no Apple fan would bat an eye if this name change came to pass.
Like all others before it, this new leak reaffirmed an iPhone 14-esque build with an OLED display but with a newer Action button instead of a slider. Two color options might show with the iPhone 16E, Black and White. Some CAD renders for 16E’s protective case also got leaked in the same post.
iPhone's latest affordable variant is more streamlined, naturally fitting to the original catalog, and this change even reflects Apple’s intentions. This phone is supposed to be an entry-level adaptation of their iPhone 16 series. After all, it will use flat edges, a corner-to-corner screen, and a Face ID, almost polar opposite to the iPhone SE 3. Apple’s justifiably ditching the retro design and the SE moniker in one go.
The name iPhone 16E hints at the intention to occupy another major share of today’s smartphone market. Although we don’t believe this leak to be 100% accurate, it is an intriguing thought nonetheless. This leak needs more context, and we can’t wait to discover more about the iPhone SE 4/16E.
