Apple no longer intends to call the next budget iPhone an SE. The 2022 iPhone SE 3 might be the last one of its species. SE 4 is supposed to switch its nametag to Apple iPhone 16E, which should launch sometime in April this year. We have news about this Apple handset.
Digital Chat Station leaked some of its specs on Weibo, and it caught the attention of news media. His track record with iPhone leaks speaks for itself. From what he shared in a new Weibo post, the iPhone 16E could be thought of as an iPhone 14 since they have so much in common.
Of course, some changes and downgrades will befall this iPhone 16E to make it a pure $500 affordable device, but there will still be a day and night difference between the older and new model. The leak says its screen is 6.06” with a 1080p resolution on an OLED panel.
It will keep the premium screen quality at least and throw out the modern features — no Dynamic Island, no fancy refresh rate, and no dual camera. The iPhone new budget model bags the FaceID, one rear camera, full water resistance, and the newest Apple chip. Yes! iPhone 16E will give you access to the Apple A18 silicon.
That chipset is the biggest upgrade of all. DCS also said that 16E is the cheapest of all new iPhones, and we’ve heard past rumors saying it could be $499 (~PKR 139,000). The MSRP for this one is $70 higher than the iPhone SE 3, but if you consider the complete facelift of the iPhone 16E, that hike is nothing for the features you are getting. Some specs are still missing, but it’s only a matter of time before they are leaked as well. So, keep up to date with our daily posts.
