We’ve entered 2025, the official year for the Apple iPhone 17 series arrival, and even though we still have some months to go, the leaks have already shown us what’s coming. From what we’ve gathered, Apple is mixing it up this year, probably giving a new look to the iPhone 17 family.
We have a real-life image here found on an X leak by Majin Bu. It looks like the shell of a larger and smaller iPhone duo since both have Apple logos in the midsection. The leaker says this design seems confirmed for the iPhone 17, so we decided to dig deeper into this new build.
As with any other smartphone, the camera module sets the tone for the theme and design. iPhone 17 wants to let go of the square camera island. This will be replaced by a horizontal camera strip on top of the shell, and we suspect that the circular cutout in the images is for the Main camera.
The leaker didn’t specify what Apple iPhone new model this is. So, the first assumption is that this phone is the vanilla iPhone 17 since it has only two cutouts from the back. Those might be for its usual dual rear cameras. Another possibility is that it could be an iPhone 17 Air.
We know that Apple is R&D-ing a slim iPhone version for consumers, and it could be an entirely separate item from their typical iPhone series. It is entirely possible that the new iPhone 17 Air has its own identity and probably its very own design language as well.
You will agree that, after too many generations, the square camera design has gotten a bit stale. Apple should, at least, redo this upper section and set a new tone for the next iPhone series. The builds we can see in the image here and some recent renders look better than the old iPhones.
Again, we advise you to approach this leak with a bit of skepticism because it isn’t 100% guaranteed that Apple would choose this new design. It’s one of the choices in consideration as a leaker pointed out earlier, but the end product might look entirely different. Still, it’s great to see Apple at least trying to approach some new ideas. We’ll look into the details of the iPhone 17 series and keep you posted.
