Apple iPhone experience will never be the same after this year’s alleged upgrade of cameras. And we are talking about all cameras, front and back. Digital Chat Station pointed out some of the changes Apple might be planning for the Apple iPhone 17 and 17 Pro.
His leak says the following about the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro selfie camera. It would appear that the front 12 MP sensor from the iPhone 16 Pro has been dropped and instead, we have a 24 MP unit to replace it. That’s twice the upgrade for your selfies, videos, and better face detection.
What are the changes made to the rear setup? We hear from DCS that the three cameras all have a 48MP sensor now for ultrawide, main, and periscope zoom telephoto. For what it’s worth the iPhone 16 still has two sensors that scored 48 MP lenses, but this time even the telephoto has been upgraded.
DCS says that the iPhone 17 Pro cameras are a 48 MP main 1/1.3-inch type sensor, a 48 MP ultrawide, and a 48 MP periscope camera with 5x optical telephoto zoom. Apple iPhone's latest price is expected to reflect these premium features. The last one has an obvious resolution benefit, but if you haven’t guessed it already, the main sensor has a bigger aperture, which means better light intake and clarity.
Another leaker recently spilled the iPhone 17 Pro's design change with the elongated horizontal camera module, which is yet to gain some credibility. Still, it’s more than obvious that we have a lot to look forward to with the Apple iPhone 17 lineup, including but not limited to camera upgrades and a new design.
