A while back on the internet, we saw something rather controversial about the Apple iPhone 17 design — a concept that showed what this year’s iPhone may look like. From all the coverage about said leak, the possibility of the iPhone 17 looking like a Pixel device sounds more and more plausible. Today’s leak adds more credibility to that theory.
iPhone 17 Pro was found in some leaked images last day. Design-wise, it takes after the Google Pixel 9, with a metallic camera strip running across the top portion. We hear that Apple is looking into new designs for the next iPhones and the leaked prototype is one of the choices.
Prolific leaker Majin Bu shared the images of the prototype iPhone 17 Pro on X. He says in the description that the phone has the same lens arrangement, but the camera island is stretched horizontally. The lidar sensor and its flash have been moved to the other end to balance the elements.
iPhones and Pixel phones already have the same corner radiuses, and elongated camera islands on the back might become the second similar feature between the two handsets. Apple iPhone's latest price could influence buyers' decisions despite the design changes. Still, this new iPhone design might be scrutinized for not looking as pleasing.
This prototype has an unbalanced look, the camera placement is weird, and the design looks unpolished. As we said, it is a prototype, and “one” of the choices among many potential new builds for the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple R&D is probably in its brainstorming phase, and even if the leak doesn’t pan out, it’s nice to be in the loop with whatever they are planning next.
