Apple iPhone 17 Pro Leaked Renders Tease the Most Radical Design Shift Yet

We’ve been hearing rumors about the iPhone 17’s new design for a while now, and the leaked renders have been especially injecting curiosity among Apple fans. It seems Apple is heading for the most controversial and bold iPhone redesign in recent years and we are curious to see how it pans out.

Granted the iPhone 17 series is months away, but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from exposing its secrets. We found another leaked render starring the Apple iPhone 17 Pro, shot from the rear side. The camera looks quite different with the squared topology transitioning into a horizontal camera bar on the back.

The camera island has been expanded, the Lidar and flash are moved to the right side, and the three camera lenses remain the same. At least, that’s the design rated ‘the most likely’ on the internet. There are other possibilities, like the renders with a Google Pixel-like camera assortment on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The render shows a design with a hollow space between the lenses and the Lidar-Flash hardware. This is a non-uniform look, but the reason behind is all the Dynamic Island equipment that gets in the way of camera and Lidar placement. If Apple is going to redesign the iPhone 17 Pro, this is the most likely scenario. Based on the iPhone rate list, the Pro models are expected to maintain their premium pricing.

That’s the same reason why the horizontal lens assortment won’t work. Since the Dynamic Island isn’t going anywhere, the camera triage will follow the same shape as before and move the rest of the hardware to the right edge. Of course, these are fan-made renders after all, so we advise caution. They might not be 100% accurate.

For the other details we found, Apple Supply Chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo sourced some new information on the iPhone 17 display recently. He believes Apple has no plans to change the Dynamic Island on the phones, vis-à-vis its size and proportions to the screen, contradicting some previous reports on the subject.

Ming-Chi Kuo’s leaks are generally considered more authentic, so the news media is giving this new information precedence over earlier reports. Other leaks report that all iPhone 17 handsets will have high refresh rates, be it 90Hz for vanilla models or full ProMotion 120Hz for Pros. These details might be a hit or miss for now, but we’ll eventually see reliable information crop up on the web near the launch.
