Jeff Pu (industry analyst) says next year, there will be no iPhone 17 Plus; instead, the buyers will get an iPhone 17 Slim as a replacement. It has a design remake and a slim chassis for the device. And not to forget, as the name implies, the claimed a 6.6" screen.
It's no legit claim, yet it's credible enough to get the heads turning on publication media. So we are also covering it in depth. Pu talks about unequal iPhone sizes next year, but we shall observe the same thing in iPhone 16s. And then there is this talk about titanium build only coming to iPhone 17 Pro Max.
He argues that the iPhone 17 and 17 Slim will be the underdogs with A18/A19 chip and 8GB of RAM, while the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will only use A19 Pro and 12GB RAM. That's something we saw before. You may even notice how the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are with 6GB RAM. But in comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have 8GB.
We hope the iPhone 16 family will set the bar with 8GB RAM as the default standard. And then Apple's future iPhone models will build on that to better the inside circuitry.
The name says it all about the iPhone 17 and how it could be the thinnest of the bunch. We say that's a highlight it may use to drum up its sales. Pu says the iPhone 17, 17 Slim, and 17 Pro have aluminum sides. But only the Pro Max will go with a titanium skeleton.
