Apple iPhone SE 4 Battery & Charging Rumors Show Noteworthy Upgrades

It’s early, but the leak-verse is already purporting several interesting leads into the next iPhone SE 4. We saw a very credible report earlier that said March 2025 is probably when this new mid-tier iPhone will hit the red carpet, and there’s now a solid lead into its battery upgrade as well.

They say the iPhone SE 4 will have a bigger battery cap than last time, and it makes sense, as the phone could part ways with the retro iPhone 8 design and look more like an iPhone 14. Bigger proportions are an obvious benefit for them to put a larger power source inside it.

The leak says it’s a 3279 mAh cell rather than a 2018 mAh one from SE 3. That’s a 60% uptick in pure numbers and about a 1,261 mAh size increase for the SE 4’s battery (close to an iPhone 14). Add the new and efficient SoC into the equation, and it can last as long as the iPhone 16s.

And yes, there’s a rumor that Apple’s putting an A18 chip inside this iPhone's latest SE variant, so we might see identical performance there. Type C (20W wired) and wireless 15W will also be a new ordeal for SE 4. Also, it’s said that the entire reason why SE 4 is three years late is because they were making an in-house 5G modem for it.

Apple doesn’t want to rely on Qualcomm for a 5G hub anymore and it seems they’ve found a way. They will test the reliability of their in-house 5G modem with iPhone SE 4 and then switch out all the other future iPhones as time goes on.
