Apple iPhone SE 4 Reported with LG-Made OLED, Far Better than SE 2022's IPS

LG partners with Apple every year since there’s so much demand for OLEDs. China’s BOE and Samsung are still the primary OLED providers for Apple, there’s no doubt. But, they might offload some of the iPhone SE 4 screen manufacturing to LG.

Today’s report comes from TheElec. They claim BOE isn’t the only contributor to iPhone SE 4 displays. LG is also under contract but remains on standby as a secondary supplier. As for what direction this screen design is taking, most rumors and leaks will tell you a repurposed iPhone 14 build.

So, if the iPhone SE 4 is truly a rehashed iPhone 14, we’re in for a Notched display cutout. Those same rumors suggest an iPhone 14-like battery capacity. Things that can be different are a solo rear camera and a redesigned backplate.

We couldn’t learn anything specific from TheElec’s report. But we did come across something exciting earlier: the iPhone SE 4’s launch timeline. Immediately after the iPhone 16 series debuts, their focus will shift to the iPhone SE future models. October 2024 is when the production will begin.

Two or three months in production, and we’ll get to see the new iPhone SE 4 by January 2025. TheElec believes SE 4 may cost around $499, almost $70 more than the last SE 3. But the latest one is to drop with a starter 128 GB option, so it’s already looking better. As always, you shouldn’t take these leaks at face value alone and for an official announcement.
