iPhone SE 4 is just around the corner and will be out in the first quarter of 2025 if they follow SE 3’s schedule. We learn something new about this handset every other week either through leaks or reports. Among many alleged upgrades the phone is bringing this time, the 48 MP camera will be a high point, miles better than the iPhone SE 3.
ET News from South Korea has corroborated many previous rumors about this phone’s upgrades, especially the 48 MP rear camera. This will be a huge bump for SE 4’s photography, coming from SE 3’s measly 12 MP rear lens and a 7 MP selfie. And yes! The selfie camera on SE 4 will also see an upgrade.
Apple’s moving from a 7 MP to a 12 MP sensor for the selfie camera on the iPhone SE 4. Folks at ETNews learned from their insider sources about the phone’s camera partner LG Innotek. This company will supply the front and the back cameras for the iPhone SE 4.
From what the report foreshadows, Foxconn and Cowell Electronics will also supply cameras for the iPhone's latest SE model. Apple may even outsource the OLED production for the iPhone SE 4 to LG Display and BOE. The report says LG shook hands with Apple to manufacture about 25-35% of iPhone SE 4’s OLED.
48 MP rear camera and 12 MP selfie sensor will transition the iPhone SE 4’s photography to 2025’s standard. That camera might be just as good as their iPhone 16, except for the missing ultrawide unit, but that’s among many other compromises the phone makes to reduce the cost.
