Rumors say that the iPhone SE 4 will cost 500 dollars — maybe even less according to some reports. Many people are convinced that these rumors might be true, but others remain critical of these claims and believe that a higher price tag is called for with the upgraded design and specs.
iPhone SE 3 was a close twin of the iPhone 8 with the retro touch ID design and 4.7” screen, but that’s outdated and unacceptable at a nearly 500 USD price tag. iPhone SE 4 is rumored to be a close cousin of the iPhone 14 serving almost identical screen size and battery.
Some would say that the iPhone SE 4 is almost as good as the iPhone 16 if a single camera and a notched screen don’t bother you. Even the new camera button might be available here. And if that’s true, the SE 4 might be slightly more overqualified to be sitting at a 500 USD price tag.
We’d also be seeing the newest Apple A18 silicon with SE 4, the new 48MP main camera unit, and for good measure, there’s a reliable 12MP front selfie unit. iPhone's latest SE variant and iPhone 16 are expected to be almost 95% identical and that raised an interesting question: How can SE 4 be $300 cheaper than the $800 iPhone 16?
There are three possible scenarios to justify the iPhone SE 4’s price tag. First, the iPhone SE 4 remains unchanged and replaces the SE 3. Second, it replaces the iPhone 14 with the same $600 price. Third, if they want to keep the iPhone 14 alive in 2025’s lineup, they might end up placing SE 4 above it with a higher price tag.
