Vivo quietly introduced a 5G version of the recent Y33s yesterday. The new Vivo Y33s 4G was already available in other countries including Pakistan, and the 5G variant was launched as a China-first phone. The new 5G edition features entry-level hardware and a trendy, sleek design.
Vivo Y33s 5G comes in three finishes: Snow Dawn, Nebula Blue, and Fluorite Black. The casing is flat and textured; the rails are flat and sharp; two cameras live inside a raised rectangle. We find a notched display on the front.
It’s a 6.51” IPS LCD that fills a tall 20:9 aspect ratio, delivers a 720P resolution, and peaks at a pixel density of 269 PPI. The 8MP front camera embedded in this screen powers the Face Unlock feature. You can also access the Vivo Y33s 5G with the power button doubling as the thumbprint scanner. And the rear camera is a duo of 13MP wide and 2MP macro lenses.
The MediaTek Dimensity 700 is the engine inside the Vivo Y33s 5G. The chip is the cheapest 5G platform that MediaTek offers. It’s paired with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of multitasking memory. And the 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage is expandable via the microSD card slot.
Everything runs on a 5000 mAh, supported by 18W charging over a USB-C port. Lastly, Android 12 x OriginOS runs right out of the box on the phone. Vivo phone price tags for mid-range devices are always a delight and the new Vivo Y33s is not different. The 5G handset starts from 1,299 Yuan (~ PKR 36,500,) and the fully specced out variant costs 1,399 Yuan (~ PKR 39,300.)
