Of the eight A (2020)-series smartphones, two mid-ranged, and one budget models have already made an appearance. And Samsung is now gearing up to launch the second budget member of the next generation of the Galaxy A family – the Samsung Galaxy A21. As per SlashLeaks, early renders for the case of Galaxy A21 have been published by a tipster, suggesting that its release is not far off.
The case points out a few key design details, but nothing we don’t already know. You’re looking at a notch design similar to the one sitting on the recently unveiled Galaxy A01. If you go by that, Samsung is limiting the centered-punch-hole and the L-shaped camera design to its upper-mid-range A-series phones, like A71 and A51.
The A21 display is tipped to be the same Infinity-U display that Samsung Galaxy A20 sported, but with bezels that have been shaved off further.
In the same vein, the in-display fingerprint reader seems to be reserved for more premium and sub-premium models too. On the back of the A21, you’ll find your traditional capacitive fingerprint sensor, alongside the triple-camera setup. This choice for making a few cutbacks makes sense because Samsung will likely be offering this model at a far more pocket-friendly price.
There’s a slot for three lenses on the case, flanked by the cutout for the fingerprint scanner. It shows that the design language of the A21 remains similar to its predecessor, A20, with its vertically aligned three-lens system and rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Additional optics details aren’t out yet, but if A21 borrows the cameras from A20, it should feature an ultra-wide-angle shooter, combined with a depth sensor.
There’s a slot for a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which doesn’t come as a surprise since A21’s less beefy sibling A01 also features one. Unlike A01, however, the cases for A21 show off a trendy gradient finish. The same source also revealed the case renders for the Galaxy A01 before its launch – renders that line up perfectly with the official promos. This fact lends a certain credibility to the leak, but we’ll have to wait for additional details to surface, all the same.
