Oppo A16 4GB is a new edition of the phone from the Chinese phone maker. Official Oppo pages haven't announced it yet but the handset is now available in the local market across Pakistan. Featuring a sleek (although nondescript) design, massive battery, and more storage and battery, the Oppo A16 4GB variant is a refresh of the A16 launched just a month back in Pakistan.
Let’s start with the phone’s design. Oppo A16 4GB rocks the same chamfered casing finished in a frosted texture. You can pick from Crystal Black and Space Silver colors. The frame has chrome edges and a side-facing thumbprint reader pulling double duty as the power button. It weighs 190g and measures 8.4mm in depth.
The screen is a generic LCD. It stretches 6.52” across and houses the front camera inside a prominent notch. Oppo A16 4GB edition also delivers an underwhelming 720P resolution, 60Hz refresh and touch sampling rates, and only 480 nits of peak brightness.
Flip the new Oppo mobile for 2021 over to find three lenses: one 13MP wide lens and two 2MP macro and portrait lenses. The camera hiding inside the notch is 8MP. No advanced night shot feature is available here, but you can shoot in portrait, beautification, and dazzling modes.
Everything runs on a 5000 mAh battery that lacks fast charging support. Oppo promises 21 hours of video streaming out of a single charge (which can be extended with the power saving mode.) The USB port is the old-gen micro-USB interface.
The chip inside this Oppo A16 is the Helio G35 from MediaTek. It works with 4GB of memory and 64GB of eMMC storage, expandable via a microSD card. Lastly, the latest ColorOS 11.1 powers the phone. Oppo A16 3GB variant starts at Rs. 23,999 while the new 4GB variant costs a few bucks more at Rs. 26,999.
