The first Realme 9 edition, the Realme 9i, dropped earlier this month. It’s a budget-friendly phone featuring a modern chip, a responsive display, and a fast-charging battery. It has already been rolled out in many Asian countries, and its next stop is Pakistan.
Realme Pakistan has yet to tease or hint at this upcoming arrival. But reliable sources told WhatMobile that the Realme 9i is slated for nationwide launch sometime in February 2022. Here’s everything you need to know about the phone.
Let’s start with the hardware inside the phone. Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (a new 4G chip based on a 6nm process) is at the heart of Realme 9i. It’s paired with 4GB/6GB of multitasking memory and 64GB/128GB of flash storage.
Everything runs on a 5000 mAh battery that lasts 995 hours on standby. When you run out, the 33W charger in the box quickly brings you back to 100%. In addition, Realme's brand new mobile promises 36% faster charging speeds. Lastly, Android 11 x Realme UI 2 powers the Realme 9i.
The screen is a 6.6” IPS LCD that peaks at 480 nits of brightness, a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, and a 1080P resolution. Dragontrail Pro glass shields the Realme 9i. The back and frame are plastic, finished in black and blue colors. The blue edition has an 8-layer glossy, reflective ‘Prism’ coating.
Three lenses and LED flash make up a cluster inside a camera rectangle. We’re looking at an array of 50MP f/1.8 wide, B&W, and macro shooters. The dual speakers deliver stereo sound. And storage expansion is available via the microSD slot. WhatMobile puts Realme 9i’s starting price at PKR 34,999.
