Galaxy S25 Series Rolls Out First Official Update, Fixes S25 Ultra’s Camera Bug

The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup received its first-ever security update yesterday and brought something extra for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The February patch has been released in Korea for all three devices: the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, and there are the details we found.

When the phones are updated, you will see the new firmware assigned with the code similar to S93xNKSU1AYB3. The letter “X” will vary across devices, depending on which model of the Galaxy S25 the user has. This new update is a small package you can download over the air.

From what we’ve seen from the changelog, this update clocks in at around 585.9MB Download, and this package also includes some bug fixes and important security patches for February 2025. By the time the Galaxy S25 starts shipment to Pakistani users after February 20th, the update might be available already on these phones.

As always, this update will stick around in Korea for a while and slowly begin to reach more regions later. Samsung 5G new models are already open for pre-order in Pakistan until the 20th of Feb and the retail deployment will start thereafter. Hopefully, by the time you get your hands on the new devices, the update will be ready to install in our country as well.

Installing the update will be quite simple when you unpack the device and connect to the internet for the first time. Once the phone checks for updates, all you need to do is navigate to Settings, scroll down, and tap on Software Update. A changelog with the Download and Install button should appear.

Tap on the button, and the update should commence. After the downloading is over, the phone will reboot and welcome you to the new and secure firmware. It fixes dozens of security issues cropping up in the previous version and lends us some stability improvements.

For Galaxy S25 Ultra users, this update is even more necessary since it fixes an annoying camera bug some Redditors found on their devices. From what we’ve gathered thus far, the S25 Ultra’s night mode photography has a color banding issue.

Instead of a smooth color transition in the sky-scapes, the Ultra shows gradient lines, which chips away at the phone’s picture quality. Samsung acknowledged this issue and said a fix has been deployed, likely a part of the February 2025 patch.
