Huawei’s sub-brand Honor will be launching the Honor 30S today, making it the first phone to rock the newly-minted HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G chipset. A live shot from an Honor store also reveals the Huawei prices.

The promotional Honor 30S posters published on the brand’s Weibo page give us a preview of the phone’s front design for the first time. As previous leaks predicted, you’re looking at a punch-hole positioned in the top-left corner of the display – which speculation suggests is an FHD+ LCD panel.

Flip it over, and you’ll meet a quad-camera organized inside a rectangular cutout. The three, almost identical, lenses are stacked vertically in the left column. The right column has an LED flash sandwiched between a camera and AI markings.

If you go by the arrangement of the cameras themselves, it’s a familiar L-shaped layout. The camera bump protrudes out a fair bit, as seen in the teaser poster. The primary shooter allegedly has a 64MP sensor behind it and is combined with a telephoto lens that delivers up to 3x lossless optical zoom.

The rear shell sports a design that is inspired by the bright natural patterns on butterfly wings, as per the official source that released the teasers. It’ll come in Green, Blue, Black, and Orange colors, featuring the supposed ‘butterfly’ streaks. Honor has trimmed the bezels to the edges and mounted a thumbprint reader on the side of the build.

That covers the design part. Now for Honor 30S’ performance. Official sources confirm that it’ll arrive with support for 40W fast charging. AnTuTu’s benchmarking test reveals that the Kirin-820-powered Honor 30S outflanks the Snapdragon 765G chip, with a score of 375,000 points.

The listing also shows that the platform is coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The hardware, of course, runs on the latest Android 10 OS (likely to ship with Magic UI 3.0 on top). A shot taken inside an Honor store in China shows a sign that reads Honor 30S with a Huawei price tag of ¥2699 which comes to some 62,000 Pakistani rupees without taxes.
