Following the entry-level Honor 9S that was introduced yesterday, Honor has another budget model scheduled for launch soon. The 8S 2020, is a sequel to the 2019 Honor 8S. The Honor 8S 2020 starts at €135 (~23,000 PKR) -- a slight bump in the original Huawei price tag of 19,000 PKR.
The leak comes from the phone leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore, who reports that the 8S (2020) steps up the memory and storage from 2GB/32GB to 3GB/64GB. It received a new paint job as well. As opposed to the drab solid duo-tone design, the 2020 iteration has a gradient look that’ll be available in Blue and Black shades.
Around the front of the Honor 8s 2020, you get a compact display with a circular notch extending into it. The chin has Honor’s branding, and the rear shell has a single camera mounted on its top-left corner with a 13MP lens– so not much has changed in terms of either the design language or specs.
WhatMobile speculates that the display is an LCD panel that delivers an HD+ resolution, and measures 5.71 inches. And if the 8s battery hasn’t been upgraded, it might still be a 3,020 mAh cell.
Not much is changed except for the Huawei prices, the 2020 edition will be powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 chip, but the OS might be upgraded from Android Pie to Android 10. And since the rear camera is carried over from the 2019 variant, the 5MP front camera would be as well.
The Honor 8s 2020's availability details aren’t in yet, but we expect the phone to go globally official sometime later this month. The phone is also expected to hit the Pakistani markets in months to follow.
