The ever-expanding screen size in the smartphone world is stretching past the 7” mark as Honor launched the Honor X10 Max 5G, featuring a giant 7.09” display at an attractive Huawei price. The flagship is built with a focus on design and performance, rounding off the still-recent Honor X10 series.

Honor and its parent company Huawei have been rather prolific with their releases in recent weeks. In the same vein as many latest builds, the Honor X10 Max is 5G-enabled, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor.

The chipset is paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. To power the massive display, the phone features by a 5,000 mAh battery, which you can recharge with 22.5W fast charging.

The phone is headlined by a 7.09” IPS LCD panel that’s HDR10 rated and produces an FHD+ resolution and up to 780 nits of brightness. This innovative screen uses an RGBW panel, which delivers an additional set of subpixels — white. By introducing a new sub-pixel, Honor claims to have made the X10 Max 5G more power-efficient. This display is flat, has narrow bezels surrounding it, and a notch carved into its display for the 8MP front camera, as opposed to the pop-up module, the standard X10 features.

Around the back of the new Honor, there’s a thick, oversized camera housing that contains the X10 Max’s camera system: a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth-sensing module. The shell comes in a range of designs, from the elegant, shimmering Racing Black, and the well-polished muted Racing Silver, to the more expressive, geometric Racing Blue. Mounted on the side of the frame is a thumbprint reader for unlocking the phone.

The bigger-than-usual display is the novelty factor, given that the Honor X10 Max is the only 7”+ 5G phone on the market. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have access to Google’s services, but Honor ships it with MagicUI 3.1 and the AppGallery onboard. Currently, it’s starting from CNY 1,899 (~45,000 PKR without taxes).
