The Honor X10 (formerly the Honor 10X), is Honor’s next big 5G model, and it’s scheduled for launch on May 20, per Honor’s official Weibo page. A typographical promo poster that accompanies the post confirms the launch date but doesn’t offer a preview of the phone itself, neither reveal the Huawei prices nor any other detail.
Although the official source doesn’t detail the Honor X10 specifications, a previous TENNA listing has given us an almost-replete picture of the phone. The X10 inherits a pop-up camera module from its predecessor, to bring you a true ‘Full View’ notch-less display. The screen itself is a 6.63” IPS LCD panel that delivers an FHD+ resolution.
Mounted on the rear shell is an oversized camera bump and inside it a quad-camera system. The main camera on X10 By Honor has a 40MP Sony-manufactured IMX600y sensor, combined with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a pair of 2MP depth-assist and macro cameras. The front-facing camera uses a 16MP sensor inside it.
Honor has opted for a side-mounted thumbprint reader on X10 that doubles as the power button. The build weighs 203g and is 8.8mm thick. The chipset is where things get interesting. As part of the Chinese firm’s project to introduce more budget-minded 5G devices, the mid-range X10 affords you 5G connectivity thanks to its Kirin 820 5G processor.
The RAM and storage configurations for Honor X10 haven’t been leaked yet, but the SoC is hooked up to a 4,200 mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging and powers up over a USB Type C port.
Speculated to carry a Huawei price tag of CNY 2,000 or around 45,000 PKR without taxes, the Honor X10 might be Honor’s cheapest 5G smartphone. By comparison, the 5G-powered Honor 30S starts from CNY 2,399 (54,000 PKR). We’ll keep you posted as more details appear leading up to the launch event.
