Following Huawei's exit from the global market, its subsidiary brand, Honor, emerged as an independent smartphone manufacturer. Pakistan has been waiting to hear from the brand ever since. The wait seems almost over, as the brand plans to make a big splash with the announcement of the Honor X5 and X6 soon.
Honor has officially slated the X5 and X6 combo as coming soon in Pakistan. It's an exciting new duo from the brand's cost-friendly portfolio unveiled in December 2022. The phones come pre-loaded with Android 12 and run on MediaTek Helio G25 engine. Driving their graphics is a PowerVR GE8320 Gpu.
Camera pieces on both phones seem extensive. For the X5, there is only one functioning lens; an 8MP primary shooter. On the X6, users will find three lenses capped at 50MP, 2MP, and 2MP. Towards the front side, Honor X5 and X6 share an equally impressive screen; a 6.5-inch TFT LCD embedded with a notch cutout for a 5MP selfie snapper.
The screen boasts a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, translating to a pixel density of 270 PPI. With an aspect ratio of 20:9, it scores the screen-to-body percentage of ~82.3%. Coming from a 6.5-inch display, it's a reasonably immersive viewing experience. If you're in the market for a budget-friendly smartphone, it's worth comparing the Honor price list to see how this device stacks up against other similarly priced options.
On the core, the X5's memory hub sports 2GB RAM and 32GB storage with an SD card slot to expand the storage by up to 1 TB. X6's memory hub is the same type, though it has slightly extended 64GB 4GB RAM and 128GB 4GB RAM combinations. Energizing their systems is a 5000mAh cell rechargeable using MicroUSB port 2.0 on X5 and USB-C port on X6 with OTG support.
In essentials, the duo packs all the traits of the devices in the low-cost segment; GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm audio port, Dual-SIM support, and an LED flash backing up the cameras. HONOR X6, being the costly sib, perks up device security using a side-facing fingerprint reader; X5 lacks that feature. Their costs in Pakistan are yet to unwrap.
