Honor X60 GT finally debuts in China and it brings a flagship Qualcomm chip powered by one of the biggest batteries we’ve seen on smartphones recently. For the price tag it’s been given, calling this device impressive will be an understatement. Here’s what you need to know about the latest member of Honor’s X60 family.
There’s a huge 6.7” display on the front, AMOLED 120Hz with HDR, and 5000 nits peak brightness. It’s made of Aluminosilicate glass for extra durability. The resolution is 1.5k, a little over 1080p displays we usually find on midrange devices. But the X60 GT’s main attraction is a ~90% screen-to-body ratio it sports.
The phone has straight edges, so it looks fairly decent and modern. Since there’s a 6300mAh battery inside it, this phone will last longer than your typical 5000mAh device. Bigger cell capacity and faster charging are quickly becoming a theme among Chinese phones.
Honor X60 GT uses 80W charging input to refill almost half the battery in less than 15 minutes. It even comes with Bypass Charging, being a gaming-focused model. Speaking of which, the Honor's latest flagship phone deserves admiration for bringing a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip at a budget price.
This is a beast of an SoC, released in 2022. It has up to 3.2GHz clock speed on its Main Cortex-X2 core. Since the “Plus” labeled chips, such as SD 8+ Gen 1, are overclocked, Honor made special arrangements to keep its temperatures down. So, here we have a 5,514 sq.mm vapor chamber with cooling elements for heat control.
The phone comes with storage configurations of 12+256GB or 16+512GB. There’s also a third variant, which is a sweet spot between the two with 12+512GB memory. Of course, some of the storage will be taken by its Android 15 system, based on Magic OS 9.0 that is chock-full of AI features for image editing and assistance.
The cameras aren’t the best here, but they should get the job done with a 16MP selfie shooter or the Main 50 MP (OIS) camera on the rear side. There’s also WiFi 6 and stereo speakers with boosted audio. This is an IP65 rated device and comes with an optical fingerprint on the display. The Honor X60 GT is priced in China at CNY 1,799 (~USD 250 or ~PKR 70,000) for the base memory trim.
