Huawei Mate X2 Certified on TENNA; The Redesigned Foldable Has a Cover Screen Now

Despite Huawei’s evident struggles, the company is working on the next edition of its foldable Mate X, the Huawei Mate X2. The product was signed off by TENNA this week — a Chinese certification agency — and should make its debut soon. The 3C (another Chinese agency) also previously certified Mate X2 and LetsGoDigital published concept renders for it.

The new Huawei Mate X2 foldable is listed under the model number TET-AN00/TET-AN10 but without any specifications.

But the speculation surrounding the phone points to the Kirin 9000 chipset — the same processor you’d find in the new Mate 40 series. Huawei is also porting over its 66W fast charging technology to the Mate X2.

No word on the Huawei mobile price yet but the design has changed from last year. Where the original had an outward-folding display, the new Huawei Mate X2 adopts the Galaxy Fold form factor. It folds inwards like a book and has a tiny 4.5” cover screen on the outside. You unfold it to reveal an 8” screen.

In related news, a mystery phone was also featured on TENNA and 3C. Found under the model number CDL-AN50, the new phone has a 5G-powered chipset. It features a 6.5” display, a 3900 mAh battery, and 40W fast charging.
