A new member of the Nova series joins the Huawei smartphone family. The new Nova 5T is now globally official, and like the rest of the Nova family, it is a device that further blurs the thin line between the midrangers and the high-end. The new 5T inherits some top of the line specs from the high-end Huawei flagships but still comes at a much lower price.

The Huawei Nova 5T seems like a remarkable high-end mid-ranger that has just recently been launched at an event in Malaysia. Although the smartphone is powered by the Kirin 980 processor and features a 48-megapixel quad-back camera powered by Leica, it costs almost similar to a mid-range smartphone.

Like the recent Honor 20, the Huawei Nova 5T is equipped with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with a punch hole for the 32-megapixel front camera in the upper left corner. The smartphone comes loaded with Android 9 Pie having EMUI 9.1.1 at top. Powered by the 7nm Kirin 980, the phone also features GPU Turbo 3.0 graphics acceleration technology.

Instead of the back, The fingerprint reader is located on the side and at the bottom, it has a USB-C connector. Inside, The phone comes with a whopping 8 GB of RAM paired with 128 gigabytes of internal storage. The device is powered by a 3,750 milliampere battery with support for 22.5 watts quick charge.

The rear features a 48-megapixel main camera with f / 1.8 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f / 2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and another 2-megapixel depth sensor for that portrait bokeh.

Nova 5T comes in in three color options: Black, Blue Crush Blue, and Purple Mid Summer Purple. In Malaysia, the phone carries a price tag of 1,599 Malaysian ringgit which converts to some 60,000 Pakistani rupees. We don't have the exact dates for the Pakistani market yet but it's expected to arrive real soon, even before the arrival of Huawei Mate 30 pro
