The Huawei Nova 7 lineup will be introduced on April 23, says Huawei in a Weibo post. A previous leak had already claimed April 23 to be the release date for the Nova 7 series, but it wasn’t officially confirmed until now. A teaser poster also accompanied this announcement, teasing the design and color options for this upcoming lineup. The Huawei prices, however still remain a mystery.
As per the promo, the Kirin 985 (the same chipset which the Honor 30 debuted with yesterday) will power the Huawei Nova 7. The chip has a 7nm manufacturing process inside it, and a CPU clocked at 2.58GHz. Its two siblings could feature the Kirin 990 and Kirin 820 SoC.
The Honor 30 lineup features the Kirin 985 and Kirin 990 platforms, which suggests that the Nova 7 series could rehash the aforementioned trio. At any rate, the entire ensemble will support 5G connectivity.
As for the design, you’re looking at a pill-style (which has become somewhat of a staple design for Huawei phones) dual front camera and a curved display. Around the back sits a quad-camera inside a lengthened rectangle-shaped camera housing. Part of the setup is a periscope module that allows for up to 50x digital zoom.
Bright iridescent streaks originate from the camera island, reaching the edges of the polished rear shell. It’ll come in red, deep purple, and silver gradients. These details were shared in the form of a leaked teaser poster.
The battery details haven’t been teased yet, but it’s expected to support 40W fast charging. The basic Nova 7i is expected to bear a Huawei price tag of CNY 2,000 (47,000 PKR, without taxes) and go up to CNY 4,000 (94,000 PKR) for the pro variant. The launch event would understandably be a virtual one, and Huawei might tease more details during the days leading up to the event.
