The new Nova series from Huawei is reportedly slated for launch in September this year. Huawei Nova 9 is a line of premium mid-range phones featured in a recent string of leaks and certifications. And yet another leak gives us the connectivity details. Over the past two generations, Huawei introduced 5G connectivity into the Nova series. But the Nova 9 will debut in LTE editions, at least at first.
At their last HarmonyOS event, where the P50 series launched, Huawei went on record to say that 5G is out of their reach for now. That’s why both P50 phones featured 4G chips. The trend is seemingly here to stay because the Huawei Nova 9 series will also be offered in 4G for the time being.
A source based in China recently reported that the Nova 9 series is set to launch in both 4G and 5G options. But the 5G variants are indefinitely delayed owing to the U.S. sanctions.
The Chinese manufacturer struck a deal with Qualcomm last year that allows them access to LTE Snapdragon silicon in Huawei's new model phones. So instead of the brand's in-house Kirin chips, the Qualcomm Snapdragon series powers the Nova 9 series.
No other concrete details are available for the internal specs of the Nova 9 series yet. But the lineup is set to launch in mid-September. We’ll have more information as we get closer to the official release.
