Yet another clamshell device hits the murky grounds of the foldable phone arena. It’s a cheaper Huawei product from their Nova collection. And also their first under the branding. They are calling it the ‘Huawei Nova Flip.’ Available in China, these are the features it debuted with.

There are two finishes buyers can go with. They can either opt for a Glass finish, and deal with a slightly extra bulk at 15.12mm, or they can get a 15.08mm plain leather version. They will also weigh accordingly at either 199 grams or 195 grams. New Green, Starry Black, Zero White, and Sakura Pink are its color options.

Nova Flip is a tall one. And not so different than the Huawei Pocket 2. There’s a 6.94” OLED LTPO (1-120Hz) screen on the front that folds. It’s crisp with a high 2690 x 1136 pixel count (a little over FHD+ resolution). Then, there’s up to 1200 nits brightness and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for reduced flicker.

That punch hole in the screen is home to a 32 MP selfie unit. Now, when you slap the Nova Flip shut, there are two peepers and a screen in an elongated protrusion. We have a 2.15” OLED 60Hz cover screen on the back of Huawei's upcoming folding phone. And they slot in a 50 MP primary and an 8 MP ultrawide lens beside it.

But that’s enough about the stuff on the surface. It’s potent and pretty under the shell as well. Harmony OS 4.2 comes by default here. Kirin 8000 keeps things running smoothly, and there’s up to 12 GB RAM to assist with multiple tasks.

Nova Flip Storage starts at 256GB. And it goes all the way up to 1TB. Nova Flip has plenty of juice with a 4,400mAh battery. And it fast charges at 66W input. Huawei Nova Flip’s lowest-end option is 12/256GB, and the price is 5,288 Yuan (~PKR 204,000). The 12/1TB option’s official price is 6,488 Yuan (~PKR 251,000).
