Huawei Nova Y70 Plus is an upcoming Huawei model featuring an ultra-powerful battery and a huge display. New releases from Huawei have slowed down significantly in recent seasons. And the Huawei Nova Y70 Plus isn’t launching in Asia (which is typically the case.) Instead, it’s being rolled out in South Africa first. A microsite, showcasing the phone’s previews and features, is already up on the Huawei website.
The Nova Y70 Plus rocks a tall, unwieldy screen with a notch cutout. We’re looking at a 6.75” panel, presumably with a 720P resolution. Its notch contains an 8MP front camera.
Turn the phone over to find a rear camera cluster made of three lenses: 48MP f/1.8, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP portrait cameras. The casing has chamfered edges that house a power button (doubling as the fingerprint sensor.) The glossy, polished shell comes in Crystal Blue, Pearl White, and Midnight Black.
A colossal 6000 mAh battery powers the Huawei Nova Y70 Plus. Huawei promises a whopping 3-day battery life out of a single full charge. When you run out, the 22.5W SuperCharge brick quickly replenishes the power. You can pick from 64GB and 128GB storage variants.
EMUI 12 x Android runs on the hardware out of the box. But note that unlike the latest 5G Samsung mobile phones, Huawei phones are not permitted to use Google’s software like all the latest 5G Samsung mobile phones. So instead of Google Apps, you will either have to sideload your apps or rely on the more limited Huawei AppGallery. There’s no word on the pricing yet, but we should learn more on May 1 when the Huawei Nova Y70 Plus goes on sale.
