Infinix has the next generation of budget Hot series phones in the works right now. No official teasers or promos are out yet, but unboxing photos showcasing the Infinix Hot 12i have leaked online. We speculate the Infini Hot 12 line to also feature the Hot 12 and the Hot 12 Play.
The Infinix Hot 12i is an entry-level phone without the competitive specs you would find in modern Android phones. Its chip is the ancient, low-end MediaTek Helio A22. It’s hooked up to a 5000 mAh battery, so you can expect two days of regular use out of a single charge. But there’s no mention of the fast-charging support.
The phone comes in a single 2GB+64GB storage variant, and the memory is virtually ‘extended’ by 2GB for slightly better multitasking. Since it’s old, underpowered hardware, the Hot 12i cannot run the full version of Android. Instead, Infinix ships it with the trimmed Android 11 Go Edition.
The casing of the Infinix new model is an unremarkable plastic shell painted in a single-tone gradient. We find a camera array encased in the reflective rectangle. The primary camera here has a 13MP sensor and an f/1.8 wide aperture. A capacitive fingerprint scanner flanks the cameras from the right.
The display is nothing to write home about either. It’s a 6.6” IPS LCD with a peak resolution of 720P. Lastly, an 8MP front-facing camera is embedded in this display. The Infinix Hot 12i launch is presumably right around the corner. So we’ll hear more when the phone officially drops.
