Infinix announces two new additions to the Note 12 series. While the Note 12 G96 is just an upgraded sibling with a better processor, the Note 12 VIP features multiple upgrades including an extraordinary 120W charging capability, 108MP main camera, 120hZ display, and much more
Infinix Note 12 G96
The new handset is an upgrade to the Note 12 and is arriving in Pakistan as a standard option. The Infinix Note 12 G96 is a mid-range addition that replaces the MediaTek Helio G85 with the Helio G96, a chipset that brings superior performance. The SoC adds a more advantageous memory option with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The new model is cooled by 10 layers of graphene but without vapor chambers. The screen replaces the Note 12's IPS LCD technology to adopt a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, which, in turn, will ensure more efficiency for its 5,000 mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging.
The cameras have been rearranged, bringing a more premium look, and its primary lens has been significantly upgraded from 13 MP to 50 MP. There's also a depth sensor with 2MP resolution and a laser autofocus assist unit.
The Hot 12 G96 will be available in black, white, or blue, color options and is launching in Pakistan as a regular Infinix Note 12 model on the 25th of this month. The handset is expected to be priced at 39,999 Pak rupees.
Infinix Note 12 VIP
The main attraction of the launch was the Infinix Note 12 VIP, which brings a totally different look than what we are used to seeing in the Infinix portfolio. The phone boasts a rectangular camera module that houses the triple camera setup. On the front, there is a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
A 108MP main lens characterizes the rear camera array with a 1/1.67” sensor and a 9:1 pixel binning. The main shooter of the Note 12 VIP is accompanied by a 13MP wide-angle lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, as well as a laser-optimized autofocus system. On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie snapper.
The Note 12 VIP is equipped with the Helio G96, one of MediaTek's most affordable mid-range platforms. The chipset works with 8 GB of RAM. Its storage capacity is 128GB but can be expanded further with a Micro SD card.
To power the internals, the handset packs a 4,500 mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging support. Note 12 VIP is the company's first smartphone to cross the 100W mark. Other specs include Android 12 with XOS 10.6, dual speakers, 9-layer graphene cooling and vapor chambers, and X-axis linear motor.
The Note 12 series is all set to launch in Pakistan on May 25 but only the G96 variant (dubbed as a standard variant) will be available for now. The Note 12 VIP is expected to join in later in the coming weeks. Available in select markets for now, in two color options — black or silver — The handset is expected to carry a retail price of Rs. 59,999.
