Infinix Note 50 Pro Nears Global Launch After Securing SDPPI Certification

Infinix Note 50 Pro has passed another certification. We’ve been hearing rumors about a new Infinix lineup that might launch in early 2025 to replace the old Note 40 series. The new SDPPI certification confirms the nearing launch of at least one of those devices with the title Infinix Note 50 Pro.

There wasn’t much to extract from this certification, except for the fact that it’s assigned the model code X6855 by the company. Still, it does confirm our suspicion of the phone coming to the global markets in a matter of weeks. If you want more proof, the same model number was also found on GSMA’s IMEI database, which we covered via a news post back in October 2024.

A recent FCC certification is also doing rounds in the tech media. Thankfully, it gave us a few clues about its internal spec sheet. Note 50 Pro has NFC, keeping true to its heritage, and you can expect an upgrade from 8 GB max RAM to 12 GB, combined with the usual 256 GB storage.

Note 50 Pro revealed at FCC had LTE connectivity, Dual-Band WiFi, and Bluetooth, nothing out of the ordinary, except the 9mm thickness. That’s a lot of heft for an average non-rugged device. We are interested to see how Infinix justifies this number. With the Infinix smartphone price often positioned competitively, we are interested to see how Infinix justifies this number.

There’s a chance that the thickness is caused by a massive battery or wireless charging, but that’s merely a speculation. The FCC database did confirm Note 50 Pro’s 45W wired charging input, so that’s something. This device will borrow some of the features from the old Note 40 clan.

Note 40 Pro series made a huge fuss over the All-round Fast Charge Tech 2.0, which gave the Pro device a 70W wired and 20W wireless input with a magnetic kit. Hopefully, this option won’t be thrown out by Infinix for this year’s Note series.

Another thing the Infinix Note 40 Pro excelled at was the screen. 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.78” curved AMOLED FHD+ resolution are right up the alley of most flagship phones. Its near-bezel-free screen was also home to a fingerprint reader. It used a 32 MP selfie cam through a punch hole. The Note 40 series debuted in March 2024, so expect the Note 50 clan to follow the same timeline in 2025.
