Infinix introduced their Zero 8 and Infinix Hot 10 phones in Pakitan for a very aggressive price recently. these already are feature-rich, camera-focused models. Yesterday, the company announced the new Note 8 Series including the Note 8 and Note8i following the same playbook. Let’s take a look.
The ongoing industry trend of dramatically increasing screen sizes continues with the Infinix Note 8 and it's gigantic 6.95” display the Note 8i on the other hand has a smaller 6.78-inch screen. It’s a standard IPS LCD panel on both handsets and has an HD+ resolution, it’s not the sharpest-in-tier. But it’s surrounded by lightweight bezels. Plus, Both have a Punch hole camera, Note 8i has a single selfie cam while there’s a wide pill-style cutout for Note 8's dual selfie cams which make it look more like a higher-end phone.
MediaTek’s Helio G80 chipset lies under duo's hood, promising 35% better performance over the Note 7 from earlier this year. The battery is 5200 mAh on both, powered by 18W fast charging over Type C. Since an average 720p screen and the entry-level G80 processor aren’t exactly resource-hogs, you can get two-day battery life out of the Note 8 & 8i.
Multi-tasking on Infinix Note 8i and 8 is handled by 6GB of memory and the 128GB storage is expandable up to 2TB. The fingerprint is side-mounted, doubling as a power button. We’re also looking at dual stereo speakers — a feature rare in this range.
Both Infinix Note 8 & Note 8i have four cameras on the back with the difference of the main camera. The note 8i has a 48MP main while the Note 8 has a 64MP main camera with autofocus support, but no ultra-wide sensors on both. The rest of the setup is the same, joined by three extra lenses: a portrait sensor, an ‘AI’ lens, and a macro camera. For selfies, we get a 16MP camera and another portrait sensor. Again, the second sensor contributes more to the design than it does to photography.
The only differences in Infinix Note 8i & Note 8 configurations are the Screen size (6.78 inches vs 6.95 inches), the main rear camera (48MP vs 64MP), Front camera (single 8MP vs Dual 16MP+2MP), and the absence of a Gyro sensor on Note 8i while the Note 8 has it on board.
The ‘Gem Cut’ design returns with the Infinix Note 8 series, available in charcoal and blue colors. The Note 8 starts from $200 (~Rs. 33,000) while the Note 8i is expected to cost way less.
