Out of the blue, two more entry-level Infinix daily drivers have come to our local market. The Infinix Smart 9 and Smart 9 HD have just gone official in Pakistan. They are quite cheap for their specs, so you might want to consider at least one of them if you are on a budget under 30k.
Smart 9 HD has a lower rank than the Smart 9: It takes a hit on the display refresh rate and also cuts the storage by half, but there’s seemingly no difference otherwise. An IPS 6.7” 90Hz panel lays on top of the HD phone and we also see a 720p resolution here.
Smart 9 is also a 6.7” 720p IPS phone, but they gave it a higher 120Hz refresh rate and a slightly better SoC that pushes pixels at that speed. Put aside the differences, you will also see 240Hz touch sampling, 500nits (typ) brightness, and a Dynamic Bar on both these handsets.
Smart 9 HD and Smart 9 come with Android 14 (Go Edition) by default, probably because of the low resources like 4 GB RAM and low-end SoC. They used a Helio G81 chip on Infinix's latest Smart model and an unnamed Helio 2.2 GHz engine on the other, but the power comes from the same 5000mAh battery.
These phones can only refill the battery at 10W, but that’s standard within this price bracket. The same goes for their 13MP cameras on the back and 8 MP selfie shooters on the front, decent and competitive enough for what these handsets are worth.
Fingerprint readers are on the side, right where the power button lies. They used dual speakers on both phones (DTS-tuned) plus you can boost them to a 300% volume. IP54 and drop protection ratings are also here with Wet Touch capability, all for extremely reasonable prices. Infinix Smart 9 (4/128GB) has a price tag of Rs 28,999, and Smart 9 HD(4/64GB) comes at only Rs 25,999.
