Today is September 21st; the pre-order window is closed now, and as promised, they have officially released the Infinix Zero 40 in Pakistan for retail. From what we know, it came in a solo 8/256 GB option, and the price is almost as expected, very close to the cost of its predecessor when it landed in our market.
They have only revealed the 4G variant here, so don’t confuse it with their 5G option which has a fancier and more powerful chipset built-in. This Zero 40 has a Helio G100, a very reliable 2.2 GHz octa-core 6nm engine that can handle almost anything you throw at it, except maybe some demanding games.
There’s an AMOLED 6.74” 3D curve panel on the front of Zero 40 and some bonus options like Always-On-Display and Gorilla Glass 5; the kind of stuff only flagship phones have. This panel is FHD+ 1080p 1300nits peak brightness, and the Zero 40 (4G) also has a quick 120Hz refresh rate.
There was only one 50MP unit in Zero 30 last time, but this one has dual 50MP lenses: one is a front selfie shooter and the other is a 120-FOV ultrawide on the back side, but that’s not all. There’s also a primary 108MP OIS sensor on the Infinix latest premium phone among them and then we see a tertiary 2MP depth mapper to round up its optics.
The only thing Zero 40 misses is 4K recording because it has a low-strength Helio G100, so it can only do 2K 30 FPS recording. We saved the best for last because this is the first time they promised 2-year OS and 3-year security updates for a phone.
Zero 40 will see updates till Android 16 down the road, which is plenty futureproof for most. Infinix Zero 40 4G does get the same 5000 mAh cell and 45W charging as the 5G variant, but it’s a shame there’s no wireless solution here. If you decide to purchase it, Zero 40 (8/256GB) will cost you Rs 69,999/-.
