Infinix Zero 40 has made it out. And they debuted it not only in 5G, but also 4G at the same time. We see some disparities there, but those models are close in most specs. Both are curved AMOLED, 45W rechargeable phones with twin batteries. You can tell them apart by camera design.
The display is up first in our review. Zero 40 5G and 4G share a 6.74" curved AMOLED with 1080p visuals, capable of 1300 nits max brightness. This panel has a Gorilla Glass 5 and Always-on-Display. All alike, but the 5G model has its screen overclocked to 144 Hz. Their 4G variant can only do a 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera specs are alike and distinctively better than the old generation. Their first camera is a 108 MP 1/1.67" lens made stable with OIS. Then we see a 50 MP unit with ultrawide lens. That tertiary lens is a 2 MP depth mapper, while we see a 50 MP unit on the front for selfies.
Because Zero 40 4G has a Helio G100 chip, it can only record 2K videos. Infinix 5G budget new mobile takes the win because it can do 4K recording with the help of a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate. Their performance disparity is far too varied to ignore. One is near the flagship 3.1GHz SoC. And the other is a meager 2.2GHz entry-to-mid-range CPU.
5000mAh batteries and 45W charging power both Zero 40s. But again, the 5G model skews more to the premium side with wireless 20W charging. 5G Zero 40 also benefits from Wi-Fi 6e when the 4G doesn't have this feature. At least we see both on the same page for a screen optical fingerprint.
Infinix gave its word for 2-year OS and 3-year security updates with Zero 40 4G/5G. But out-of-the-box, they only have Android 14 built-in. 8/256 GB (UFS 3.1) trim of the 5G model will cost ~$395 (~PKR 110,000). But the Infinix Zero 40 4G is much cheaper and starts at ~$279 (~PKR 77,000) for the 8/256 GB (UFS 2.2) option.
