It’s not even September yet, and iPhone 14 series rumors have started hitting the internet. Thanks to credible renders and leaks, we already know much about the devices. Now, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has made the headlines, revealing major camera hardware. According to a Chinese tipster, the 14 Pro Max is tipped to arrive with a massive rear lens module with a primary 48MP camera.

The shared images also confirm the rear camera placement. Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro will embrace an identical tri cluster to the 13 Pro Max, while the iPhone 14 and 14 Max will flaunt a horizontal dual-lens position.

This hardware upgrade was necessary to meet modern industry standards. For the main lens, the sensor size on the 14 Pro Max will bump up to 1/1.3’’ with a per-pixel magnitude of 1.22μm. The 48MP lens will capture 12MP shots using the Quad-Bayer technology. Housing these large components, the camera island will protrude 4.17mm above the rear shell while the chassis will be 7.85mm thick.

Apple has always been ahead of the competition regarding camera quality, especially on the videography front. These substantial upgrades on the iPhone 14 Pro Max are not as flashy as the Android space’s 200MP sensors, but they are still enough for Apple to brew incredible results using its software trickery.

The Pro models have already been up for production, and we can expect the new iPhone models to debut this fall. However, the remodeled internals will come at a cost.

The iPhone 14 Pro will bear a premium price tag of $1,100, a $100 increase from its predecessor. The shipments will begin soon for the new iPhone 14 series, expect more leaks to pour in as we’re nearing the launch event.
