Vivo followed up on the recently introduced Vivo Y53s 5G with an LTE edition. Instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480, the 4G Y53s rocks MediaTek silicon. The design was also subtly tweaked, though the two phones share a similar build, not unlike most Y-series models.
Vivo Y53s debuted in Vietnam, but it should head to more Asian markets in the future. Unlike a Snapdragon chip in the recently launched Vivo V21e, a MediaTek Helio G80 is at the heart of the Y53s, powered by a 5000 mAh battery. It can fast-charge at 18W over a USB-C interface.
You get up to 8GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card. FunTouchOS 11, based on Android11, runs on the Vivo Y53s out of the box.
Above the hood, the screen of the new Vivo mobile phone 2021 has a tall aspect ratio, slim bezels, and a tiny notch blending into it. It’s a 6.58” IPS LCD that offers a Full HD resolution, but the Y53s misses out on the high refresh rate found in its 5G counterpart.
Vivo Y53s has a plastic backplate with a duotone sunburst finish and a narrow camera island. Three lenses are arranged inside the camera housing. The fingerprint scanner is merged with the power button. Plus, the build includes a 3.5mm audio jack. You can pick from blue-purple and dark gray options.
We’re looking at a 64MP wide camera with an f/1.79 aperture, a 2MP depth-mapping lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. The stock camera app can shoot in portrait, night shot, and pro modes. Vivo Y53s starts from VND 6,990,000 (~ Rs. 48,400.)
