Motorola Moto E7 is on its way: Leaked Renders, Specifications, Price, and More

Motorola doesn’t enjoy the market share it once had. But thanks to their new lineup, featuring everything from the folding Motorola Razr to the entry-level the Moto E6, the company has managed to put themselves back on the map. The follow-up to this Moto E6 series, aptly titled Moto E7, is on its way. Several certification agencies have already signed off on the device, and today, it popped up in leaked press renders — all of it pointing to an imminent release.

The design hasn’t changed much from last year. You’re still looking at a charcoal/blue plastic back, a notched display, dual cameras, and the unique Motorola emblem that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

But, the layout is different. Instead of a pill-shaped housing next to the edge, the Moto E7 has a centered, boxy camera plate above the fingerprint scanner. Two cameras and an LED flash are laid out in a triangle array. It’s more geometric and symmetrical now.

The phone leaker also notes the key specifications, and they’re pretty unremarkable. Although we won’t have the full picture until Motorola reveals the price, it’s your generic ultra-budget setup — a 6.5” HD+ display, a 4000 mAh battery without any fast charging support, and a mediocre 5MP selfie camera.

The rear-camera, which uses a 48MP sensor and a 2MP depth-mapping lens, is an upgrade over the E6s and its 13MP main camera. So is the new battery which is a 1000 mAh bigger now. The same goes for the screen size that has increased from 6.1” to 6.5” (not much of an improvement if you’re a fan of more compact displays).

A contradicting source reports that the chipset inside is still MediaTek, but the front camera is bumped up to 16MP. It’ll come in two memory variants, 4GB + 64GB and 2GB + 32GB, and might start from $100 (~ Rs. 15,999).
