The Chinese manufacturer just introduced the Oppo A53 sibling, and a sequel to last year’s A93. The new A94 launched in the UAE over the weekend, and it’s a mild refresh of its predecessor, featuring the same chipset and a few upgrades. If you’ve been following the new Oppo Reno 5 line, you’ll recognize the Oppo A94 as a rebranded Oppo Reno5 F.
Oppo A94 adopts another repurposed Oppo design: a plastic shell with a gradient finish, an oversized and squarish camera plate, and a hole-punch in its screen. The build has a light footprint — it weighs 172g and is only 7.8mm thick. You can pick from Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple colorways. Plus, it houses a convenient 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Oppo A94 screen is an AMOLED panel. It stretches 6.43” across, delivering a full HD resolution, a pixel density of 409 PPI, a screen ratio of 90.80%, and a peak touch sampling rate of 180Hz. An in-display fingerprint scanner is baked into the panel. The sensor behind the front camera is 32MP.
The rear-shell has a four-camera array. We’re looking at a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and two low-resolution mono and macro sensors. The Oppo mobile price tag has not been revealed yet.
The hardware supports several shooting scenes, from night to portrait and time-lapse modes. The A94 by Oppo can shoot in 4K at 30fps with support for electronic image stabilization.
The MediaTek Helio P95 — from last year’s Oppo A93 — powers the phone. Its octa-core CPU is clocked at 2.2GHz. The chip is hooked up to a 4310 mAh battery that fast charges over Oppo’s 30W VOOC Charge technology. You get 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage (expandable with a microSD card.) The latest ColorOS 11 runs on the Oppo A94 right out of the box.
The official Oppo A94 product page is up on Oppo UAE’s website, but no pricing or availability details have been shared yet.
