Oppo A54, from the budget-friendly line of Oppo phones, is soon getting a successor aka the Oppo A55 4G. The 5G variant of the A55 has yet to make the official announcements, but the 4G edition was just featured in hands-on photos on SlashLeaks. The post also includes a few specifications.
The National Communications Commission of Taiwan signed off on Oppo A55 4G. The images attached with the SlashLeaks listing showcase the phone from multiple angles. The phone’s shell, painted in a grainy jet black finish, has a curved profile and soft corners.
A trio of lenses and an LED flash make up a cluster on a raised camera platform. Reportedly, we’re looking at a 50MP wide lens and two 2MP low-res sensors. Flip the Oppo A55 4G over to find a hole punched through the center of a flat display. It’s a 6.5” IPS LCD that houses a 16MP front camera.
In addition to the volume rockers and a side-facing thumbprint reader, the frame of the new Oppo mobile for 2021 also includes a USB-C interface and a 3.5mm audio jack. Inside the Oppo A55 4G, a 5000 mAh battery (rated 4980 mAh) powers the hardware. The chip isn’t specified, but the phone can quick-charge over 18W.
The rest of the screen and internal specifications remain a mystery for now. That said, Oppo is already securing product certifications for the A55 4G, so the official release shouldn’t be far off.
