Nokia G50 5G Clears its FCC Certification Before the October Launch; Rumored Specs Verified

Nokia G50 is an upcoming mid-range model from Nokia, slated for launch in October. HMD Global has yet to make a formal announcement, but the phone's previews, specs, and release details have been featured in a string of leaks and certifications. As we inch closer to its debut, the Nokia G10's latest sibling has also been signed off by the FCC.

The Federal Communication Commission (the American FCC) lists the Nokia G50 under the model numbers "TA-1390" and "TA-1370." And the features specified in the relevant documents corroborate previous leaks. We review the specs here.

Nokia G50 sports a curved shell offered in Midnight Sun and Ocean Blue shades. It houses three lenses and an LED flash inside a donut-shaped camera bump. The volume rocker, the power button (that pulls double duty as the thumbprint scanner), and a dedicated key for summoning the Google Assistant are mounted on the chassis.

Also part of the build is a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C interface, and a storage expansion slot. The new Nokia mobile for 2021 is just weeks away from its official launch

Its body is 8.5mm thick and weighs 190g. Flip the Nokia G50 over to find a notched display. In typical HMD fashion, the Nokia branding is stamped on the hefty chin flanking the screen. We're looking at an oversized 6.82" IPS LCD that delivers a 720P resolution. One 8MP front camera is encased in the notch.

Three lenses — one 48MP camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a low-res portrait sensor — make up the rear-camera cluster. The G50 is powered by the Snapdragon 480, a 5G budget chip from Qualcomm. FCC notes a battery capacity of 4850 mAh without any quick charging support. It’s offered in at least one 4GB/128GB option. The phone leaker Roland Quandt puts the phone’s expected price between €259 and €269 (~ Rs. 51,000 - 53,000.)
