Nothing Phone (3) might take a while to debut. The last flagship release from the company was Nothing Phone (2) in 2023, almost two years ago. While the team did launch Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro recently, they are considered midrange, and people are getting anxious for the so-called “Flagship” Nothing Phone (3) to be unveiled in the market.
We have now received an offical word from the company’s CEO, Carl Pei himself that there are still three months left until the Phone 3’s release. Pei held a live Ask Me Anything session on X today, where he intentionally let slip the plans about the Nothing Phone 3 launch.
He said on Twitter/X live that the device will be unveiled in Q3 this year, meaning sometime between July and October. The former seems more likely because the last Nothing Phone 2 was also taken to the stage in July 2023.
The company’s intention and strategy are pretty obvious, even though it’s trying to hide as many details as possible. The Nothing Phone (3) is coming out around the same time Samsung will be launching its next Galaxy Z series, Google its Pixel 10 lineup, and Apple its iPhone 17 series.
Whether or not the Nothing's new phone deserves a seat among these big-name products in Q3 is a mystery. Only time will tell how well-rounded and powerful this device is. But, we do know what Nothing’s ambitions are for the device because of a leaked email from CEO Carl-Pei himself.
It was revealed in January through a leak that Nothing Phone 3’s primary focus is AI utility. Of course, the company’s interest in design and hardware isn’t displaced, but competing with brands like Samsung, Google, and Apple could mean they have to step up their Nothing AI features as well.
We got a taste of Nothing’s latest AI features on the Phone 3a and 3a Pro. It’s safe to assume that most of those features will also be inherited by Nothing Phone (3). While this new device is still months away, the flagship Nothing Phone (2) is making its way to Pakistan on April 21st as the company’s first official product in the country.
