Oppo has officially kicked off the promotional campaign for the Find X3 series. The first teaser poster is out, featuring the Oppo Find X3 camera system and its 10-bit color engine. Also, the early trailers that showcase the phone were leaked online.

For our readers out of the loop, Oppo first announced the 10-bit Full Path Color Management at their Inno Day event last year. Before we get into its details, note that the so-called 10-bit compatible phones simulate 10-bit depth with an 8-bit display (the last-gen Oppo Find X2 Pro used this technology.) But the Oppo Find X3 Pro has a native 10-bit screen and supports a full DCI-P3 color gamut.

Without getting into the nitty-gritty, a 10-bit screen can produce 1.07 billion colors, compared to 16.7 million colors. What it means for the viewing experience are smooth gradations and authentic color reproduction.

This new color management system adopts the 10-bit HEIF format for capturing, encoding/decoding, editing, and rendering across the Oppo Find X3 series. In addition to being compatible with the high color depth, HEIF also takes up 50% less space than JPEGs. We may also see this new color engine in new oppo mobiles to come in 2021.

The phone leaker Evan Blass published two trailer clips of the Find X3 Pro. The finalized design is in line with the product images previously leaked. It has four cameras encased in a platform that looks sculpted from the phone’s shell. This year, the optics array also includes a microlens camera with 60x magnification.

The screen has a hole-punch, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s chamfered around the edges. As you’d expect, the Oppo Find X3 Pro is IP68-rated and powered by the latest Snapdragon 888. It fast-charges at 65W over a wire and 30W wirelessly.
