OnePlus 9 Pro was allegedly leaked in hands-on photos yesterday. Dave Lee, a popular tech YouTuber, received a set of photos featuring an OnePlus 9 Pro from different angles. In addition to the design, the source also shared some specifications.
But before we get into those details, note that the CEO of OnePlus has gone on record, stating that OnePlus is allocating “huge resources” to the camera experience in their upcoming flagships.
OnePlus camera performance has never been as competitive as other brands, but the OnePlus 9 Pro is shaping up to change that. Speculation had suggested that OnePlus might be working with Leica, but it turned out to be a hoax later.
If the leaked photos are legitimate, OnePlus has partnered with Hasselblad to engineer the camera system. For our readers unfamiliar with the name, Hasselblad is a Swedish camera-maker known for its premium, high-end camera equipment. The company rarely works with smartphone companies. Their last co-engineered smartphone camera was a Motorola phone from a few years back.
Coming back to the OnePlus 9 Pro, the phone seen in these images is different from the leaked versions that preceded it. For one, it has a quad-camera cluster. And for another, its display curves along the edges.
The design is run-of-the-mill. The four cameras assume an L-shaped layout inside the rounded camera platform. In typical OnePlus fashion, a dedicated notification button and power button are mounted on the side. Also, the shell features a glossy finish instead of a matte-satin aesthetic.
The leaker also pulled up the system specifications on the alleged OnePlus 9 Pro, but the camera and processor details are marked unknown. It does list 11GB of memory and 128GB of storage. We’re also shown that the screen peaks at a QHD+ resolution and refreshes at a smooth 120Hz rate.
