The newest addition to Oppo’s A-series, the Oppo A12s, has just gone official in Cambodia with its budget-minded internals and design. It’s a sequel to the still-recent Oppo A12 with completely similar specs & Oppo price tag, the only difference you'll see is the rear paint job.
While it picks up where the A12 left off, the A12s adds its unique touch to the Oppo design language. Unlike the original drab rear-facing aesthetic, the new 'S' variant has a polished, shimmering shell — a highlight swirling across the whole panel.
Oppo A12s is painted in two muted, somber shades: Blue and Gray. The camera still lives inside a compact capsule, and the fingerprint scanner rests in the middle, flanking the dual camera.
A notch is carved into the 6.2” Oppo LCD panel, which delivers an HD+ resolution to the new A12s. The camera on the back uses a 13MP main camera and an accompanying 2MP lens for depth sensing. The selfie camera has a modest 5MP sensor behind it.
Expect decent performance out of the entry-level internals underneath the A12s’ hood. Oppo has equipped the phone with MediaTek’s Helio P35 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB with the dedicated microSD card slot). The phone supports your standard connectivity protocols, has a 3.5mm headphone jack, but charges over a previous-gen micro-USB port.
A 4,230 mAh battery backs up this hardware and lacks any fast charging support. Oppo A12s has the ColorOS 6.1 (build on Android 9) pre-installed, in the same vein as the old-gen micro-USB. It starts at $129 (~21,000 PKR), making its debut in the Cambodian market first.
